Bbymutha kills the game once again, this time with a new mixtape; Muthaz Day 2. The MC from Chattanooga, TN caught our attention last year with the track
Rules which was featured on her previous mixtape "Glow Kit". It served as a boss ass b**** anthem... and if you just give it a listen below you'll know exactly why.
Muthaz Day 2 is nothing short of the last piece of art work she shared with the world. This mixtape features 5 tracks and has already racked up more than 40k streams on Soundcloud. The truth is that this entire mixtape bumps hard. "Genesis" is our fav.. What's yours?
DON'T KNOW BBYMUTHA??? Listen to "Muthaz Day 2" & check her out below!

Drake Becomes 1st Rapper This Decade To Hit 1 Million+ In A Week,Breaks Justin Bieber's and Beyoncé's Hot 100 & Streaming Records

5/19/2016

Drake's highly anticipated and long awaited "Views" album, his
6th full-length studio record, debuts atop the Billboard 200 with
incredibly high sales. The 20 song set, which was an iTunes exclusive
during its 1st week, moved 1.04 million equivalent album units, and
sold an astonishing high 852,000 copies. It's speculated that had the
album been available on other digital services like Google Play and
Amazon MP3, that it would've sold an additional 160,000 to 195,000
copies, and the money from the sales of the extra albums plus the
songs plus the streams would've brought in more than 5.2 million
dollars in revenue.
"Views" is Drake's 6th consecutive number one album, which
includes 3 other studio albums and 2 mixtapes; "Thank Me Later," "Take
Care," "Nothing Was The Same," "If You're Reading This It's Too Late,"
and "What A Time To Be Alive." His only album to chart at a position
other than no.1 was his debut EP "So Far Gone," which reached no.6.
Drake's 852,000 copies sold is the largest sales week for a male
artist in over 3 years, the biggest since March of 2013, after Justin
Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience" sold 968,000 copies in its first
week. His 1.04 million total album equivalent units (sales plus
streaming) is the biggest sales week for any album this year thus far,
and the highest since Adele's 25 moved 1.19 million units in its 5th
week of release back in December of last year.
Much to the BeyHive's dismay, "Views" also sets a new all-time
record for the highest album streams in a week for any album, with
245.1 million streams, breaking the former record of 115.2 million
streams set last week by Beyoncé's "Lemonade," which much like
"Views," was a streaming exclusive; Drake's was an exclusive for Apple
Music and "Lemonade" for Tidal, but Drake's album is now available on
all streaming services and Bey's has a long-term/extended contract
with Tidal which is not going to be released to other streaming
platforms such as Apple Music, Google Play, or Amazon Prime at anytime
in the near future. Lemonade falls to no.2 after debuting at the top
last week and moves another 321,000 units (down 55%), and sells
another 196,000 copies. Beyoncé, who last year became the first woman
in history to have 12 songs on the Hot 100 and the dirt artist ever to
have 8 songs in the Top 40, this week has 11 out of the 12 of those
sons charting, including 5 in the top 40 and 3 in the top 20; "Don't
Hurt Yourself" feat. Jack White (28-37), "6 Inch" feat. The Weeknd
(18-28), "Formation" (10-19), "Hold Up" (13-16), and "Sorry" (11-11).
All of the album's songs are charting for a second week save
"Forwards" feat. The English dubstep singer James Blake, which debuted
and peaked at no.63 last week.
Drake also has the number one song in the country with "One
Dance" feat. WizKid and Kyla, reaching the top of the chart in its 5th
week of release. It's the top selling song in the country with 160,000
copies sold (10-1, up 32%), and the most streamed song in the country
with 37.4 million streams (2-1, up 41%). The track also reaches the
top 10 of Radio Songs with 87 million in airplay audience (12-8, up
25%).
Lastly, Drake also breaks the all-time record for most songs on
the Hot 100 in a single week, with 20. The previous record was set by
Justin Bieber last November after 17 of the 18 songs in the deluxe
edition of his "Purpose" album charted. He had broken the 14-song tie
between the Beatles (set in 1964) and Drake in September after the
drop of his "Alive" mixtape.

Beyoncé's Historic 6th Number 1 Album

5/19/2016

Beyoncé's "Lemonade" debuts at the top of the Billboard 200
with 653,000 equivalent album units, including 485,000 in pure album
sales. Now all 6 of Beyoncé's studio albums have reached the pole
position, making her the first and only act in history ever to reach
the top of the Billboard 200 with their first 6 albums, the first
woman to have her first 6 albums top the list, and the first act to
debut at the top of the albums list with their first 6 studio efforts.
All 5 of her previous records, "Dangerously In Love" (2003), "B'Day"
(2006), "I Am... Sasha Fierce" (2008), "4" (2011), and her self-titled
(2013), had entered the chart at no.1 after their first week of
release. Her last full length, "Beyoncé" debuted at no.1 in December
of 2013 after only 3 days of sales (as an initially exclusive release
to iTunes), with 613,000 copies sold.
In other top 10 news, the late legend Prince has 5 albums in
the top tier of the chart, all within the top 7 positions. The leader
is "The Very Best of Prince," which despite a gain of 118% is bumped
down to no.2 following the debut of 'Lemonade.' Those 5 Prince albums
alone moved a total of 723,000 equivalent album units, including
475,00 in pure album sales. His hits compilation "Ultimate" enters the
top 10 for the first time, marking The Purple One's 19th album. His
album "1999" also reached a new peak of no.7, after peaking at no.9
during its original release in 1983.
With 35,000 units and 22,000 copies sold, A$AP Ferg earns the
week's second highest debut. The rapper notches his second top 10 and
highest rank after the no.9 debut and peak of his "Trap Lord" back in
2013 after selling 32, 000 in its first week.

Beyoncé Makes History; her & Prince Rule The Hot 100

5/19/2016

No.1) Desiigner, "Panda" (1-1)
No.2) Drake, "One Dance" feat. WizKid & Kyla (3-2)
No.3) Lukas Graham, "7 Years" (2-3)
No.4) Prince and the Revolution, "Purple Rain" (17-4)
No.5) Mike Posner, "I Took A Pill In Ibiza" (5-5)
No.6) Rihanna, "Work" feat. Drake (4-6)
No.7) Fifth Harmony, "Work From Home" feat. Ty Dolla $ign (6-7)
No.8) Prince, "When Doves Cry" (20-8)
No.9) Zayn, "Pillowtalk" (8-9)
No.10) Beyoncé, "Formation" (new entry, Top Debut)
This week, Beyoncé makes history on the main American music
singles chart, the Billboard Hot 100. All 12 of the songs on her new
full-length and her 6th no.1 album, "Lemonade," debut on the Hot 100.
She broke the record for most songs charting at once on the Hot 100 by
a female artist, a record that had been held by Taylor Swift with 11
songs since November of 2010 with the release of her "Speak Now"
album. The all time record was set by The Beatles with 14 in 1964,
which Drake matched the broke with 17 last year, a number that Justin
Bieber tied in November. The legendary singer (along with Prince) also
becomes the artist(s) and the first woman with the mosts songs in the
Top 40 ever (concurrently), with 8, beating the former record of 7
songs previously held by Swift as well (2009) in a three-way tie with
Lil Wayne (2008) and The Beatles (1964).
Her song "Formation," though released in February, appears on
the Hot 100 now, in May. The reason for this is that the song was only
available exclusively for download and streaming only on Tidal, and
the service did not report sales or stream figures for the track. The
lead single off of Queen Bey's new LP, though released to radio, was
only sent to R&B/hip hop stations and thus could not have garnered
enough points from airplay alone to chart on the Hot 100 without any
additional points from sales or streaming. The track's Top 10 debut at
no.10 is aided by its no.3 debut on Digital Songs thanks to its hefty
sales of 174,000, blocked off the top spot by two Prince songs;
"Purple Rain," at no.1 for a second week with 282,000 downloads sold
(up 132%) and "When Doves Cry" at no.2 with 198,000 downloads sold (up
98%). The two songs are in positions no.4 and 8 on the Hot 100,
respectively.
Had Prince not unfortunately and sadly passed so untimely,
Beyoncé would've become the first artist in history ever to have 2
songs debut in the Top 10, as "Formation," as previously mentioned, is
at no.10 and fellow 'Lemonade' cut, "Sorry," makes its Hot 100
entrance at no.11. The tracks would've been at numbers 8 & 9, with her
next highest debut, "Hold Up" at no.11 rather than its current
position of no.13. And with 4 Top 10s on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs
chart (which include all 3 of the aforementioned tracks in addition to
"6 Inch" feat. The Weeknd), Bey becomes the woman with the most
concurrent top 10s ever, tying Drake, Eminem, 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne and
50 Cent.
Prince currently has 8 songs in the top 40, and had they not
been chatting this week, fueled by his passing, Beyoncé would've had a
further 3 of her new album's songs in the top 40, boosting the total
to 11 out of her new album's 12. The songs are "Dady Lessons" at
no.41, "Sandcastles" at no.43, and Love Drought" at no.47. All three
of the tracks would've been boosted into the much-coveted top 40
positions of the Hot 100. This means that her record of 8 songs in the
top 40 in one week, that she shares with Prince, would've been higher
(since the total would have been 11) and would leave no tie."
In other news, Desiigner's "Panda" is no.1 for a second week
now. Last week he broke the streak of non-American artists topping the
Hot 100, which had then been a total of 41 weeks. The song is also the
most streamed song in the country for a second week, with 36.6 million
US streams (up 5%).
After 11 weeks on top, Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" is
replaced by Lukas Graham's "7 Years," with an audience impression of
136 million (up 10%) to become the most heard song on American radio.

On Monday night Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros came to The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA to showcase their new album. Alex kept the show casual and sat down multiple times to talk with the home crowd, keeping a constant dialogue throughout the show. It wasn't a night about playing the group's biggest hits or for them to do the same old rehearsed act, but rather just about enjoying good music and connecting with a great band.

Top 10 Singles of the Week

3/28/2016

No.1 Rihanna, "Work" feat. Drake (1-1)
No.2 Justin Bieber, "Love Yourself" (2-2)
No.3 Lukas Graham, "7 Years" (5-3)
No.4 Twenty One Pilots, "Stressed Out" (3-4)
No.5 Flo Rida, "My House" (4-5)
No.6 Zayn, "Pillowtalk" (6-6)
No.7 G-Eazy, "Me, Myself and I" feat. Bebe Rexha (7-7)
No.8 Justin Bieber, "Sorry" (8-8)
No.9 DNCE, "Cake By The Ocean" (9-9)
No.10 Ariana Grande, "Dangerous Woman" (new entry)
22 year old singer and actress Ariana Grande, who claims the top debut of the week on Billboard's Hot 100 chart with "Dangerous Woman," makes music history. She became the first artist ever to have the lead single to their first 3 studio albums debut in the Top 10 following the no.10 debut of her new song, the lead single and title track of her upcoming studio album, to be released May 20th, "Dangerous Woman." If this story sounds familiar, that's because it is; history just so happens to have repeated itself. Grande became the first artist ever to have the lead single of their first 3 studio albums to debut in the Top 10 last November when "Focus," what was believed to be lead single of her then-titled 3rd studio album "Moonlight," debuted at no.7. The name of the album was changed and Republic Records, Ariana's label, has confirmed that "Focus" will not be appearing on the final track-list for the yet-to-be released "Dangerous Woman" album.  Therefore, the achievement was taken away from Grande's prior Top 10 "Focus" and given to then new 'Woman.'
Rihanna's "Work" is the most streamed song in the country for the 5th week with 34 million streams, down 3%. Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" is the most heard song on American radio for a 6th consecutive week with an audience of 147 million, down 4%. Lukas Graham's "7 Years" is the best selling song in the country for a second week, selling 125,000 copies (up 5%).
Upward chart movement and debuts outside the Top 10: Troye Sivan's "Youth" and Desiigner's "Panda" both reach the Top 40, moving 58-23 and 72-33, respectively. Zayn's "Like I Would," an album cut
from his brand new debut record, "Mind of Mine," debuts at no.55. Shakira's "Try Everything" from the "Zootopia" soundtrack moves up slightly 66-63.
Others this week include Twenty One Pilots' "Ride" at no.96, Major Lazer's "Light It Up" at no.98 feat Nyla and Jonas Blue's "Fast Car" feat. Dakota at no.100, a dance remake of his mother Tracy Chapman's 1988 no.6 folk hit of the same name.
